Hey guys,

I have a SS in .308 on the way. It is a package with the Scope. I wonder if it will have the new 1.10 twist? We shall see on Friday!

I read on Fr. Frog's page that the old ones had 1/12 twists.

It is new. But who knows how long it has been in the pipeline. Although I gather it is coming straigt from Steyr.

I have read somewhere that this twist was introduced because the army wanted to use 200 gr+ for subsonic round use with a silencer on this rifle

If you mean changing the twist from 1 in 12 to 1 in 10, I think it was the Swiss who asked for it.

1:10 is a more versatile twist for the .308. You can shoot from 150-200+ grains with good results
