Does this part just deactivate the safety or make it “invisible” too? Or is it something different altogether?

Also, I wonder if you have to sign a waiver saying that you know you are removing a safety device.    ;D  ;)

Just curious.

I put a small O-ring over the safety on my Marlin. It keeps the safety from getting bumped to “safe” inadvertently, covers the red band, and it’s instantly reversible.

I think it cost about 8 cents.

MikeFletcher:
The Ludwig Safety completely replaces the Marlin safety. It is slotted to look like a screw head. If you choose to sell the Marlin and are worried about future lawsuits, simply reinstall the original Marlin part. The Ludwig safety is fool proof. If you "need" the Marlin safety you should not be trusted with firearms in the first place.
