Why is it called a Rhodesian Sling?

Looks interesting...  Is this a better option for a Scout than a Ching Sling?  Advantages and disadvantages?  One inch or 1.25"?

I like the idea of not having to mount another swivel [too bad Ruger didn't do this for us...].

UK,

Named a Rhodesian after a long time customer from that area.

Token,

Most of the support of a Ching with no drilling of the stock for the middle strap/stud.  1" or 1.25" your choice...black or brown (or chestnut!).

Just got mine in the mail today. A fantastic piece of work. If you get one you will not be disappointed. Andy's work is first class!
Thanks, Andy!

After using the RS for several days, I found two leather keepers in my odds and ends and added them to the sling. One at the bottom to control the tag end nicely and the other near the top swivel. That one can be slid down the loop to use in the conventional method of tightening the loop as when using a military sling. Just an FYI...
Again, thanks Andy.
